Vaca Part II - Luna Pops

Maggie told me about this awesome homemade popsicles place at Topsail Beach called “Luna Pops” so we stopped in for a taste. There were lots of flavors to choose from and I choose strawberry and blueberry. After a hot day at the beach nothing was more refreshing then a luna pop. Little did I know that Nathan was going to like popsicles and he grabbed it from my hand and brought it up to his mouth. Instantly I knew that blueberry was not a good idea but he was so excited and even though it caused a colossal mess it was fun to see him try something new. He was messy but a happy baby

Vaca Part I - Sweet Potato Pancakes

We took Nathan on his first vacation to Hampstead, N.C. to visit our cousins Maggie and Ryan. During this trip we discovered that Nathan no longer wanted baby food. He was really only interested in eating whatever mommy and daddy were eating. So he tried a little bit of everything from sweet potato pancakes (his new favorite) to cereal, bread, pizza, noodles, and pickles…yes pickles. Here he is chowing down on some sweet potato pancakes.

Memorial Day!

Nathan was really busy over Memorial Day weekend. Nathan’s played with Auntie Em and soon to be Uncle Kevin when they were in town, and visited with Great Aunt Carol during the cook-out at Grandma and Grandpa Reinhart’s house on Saturday.

Then Nathan went boating for the first time on Sunday and absolutely loved it so guaranteed we will be going boating a lot more this summer.

On Monday we went over to Nick and Courtney’s new house to go swimming in their huge pool. Nathan was quite happy in Evan's large inflatable turtle. After this weekend one thing is for sure, Nathan likes the water.

Fiona is Finally Here!

Nathan’s first cousin Fiona was born Wednesday, May 26th and she is adorable. Fiona has firery red hair and beautiful blue eyes and was welcomed by happy parents Andy and Brooke. Nathan and Fiona are only 7 months apart and will surely be buddies growing up. Here are a few pictures of the newest little Shouse.

Lounging by the Pool

Nathan was able to try out his very own pool. Nathan wanted to work on his tan, however Mommy made sure to put the pool in the shade, lather him up with sun-screen, and put a swim shirt and hat on before he even went outside.

Sippy Cup

So Nathan is always willing to try something new and the sippy cup was no exception. When I brought out the sippy cup, Nathan reached for it with both hands and after I gave it to him it went right up to his mouth.

Yummy Oatmeal

Nathan likes eating more when he can be really messy. And oatmeal can get really messy.

Nathan is earning his Keep

So Nathan decided it was time to help around the house and he started by mowing the grass. As you can see from these photos… he is a natural.

Climbing Walls, Slides, and More!

Daddy took Nathan to the park so they could play! They climbed walls and went down all the slides…weeeeeeee!!!

Just Like Daddy

As you can see, Nathan likes to look just like Daddy.

Sitting Up!

Nathan sat up unsupported for the very first time and of course I had the camera near to capture it. He is learning new things everyday it is just so crazy.

Ready for a Big Boy Cup

Nick was drinking water and Nathan started making smacking sounds with his mouth and was staring at Nick’s cup. Nick brought the cup down closer to Nathan and Nathan grabbed the cup and opened his mouth. Here is one of many moments that Nathan wants to do what Daddy is doing.

New Car Seat!

Nathan is getting so big that the bucket car seat was getting too heavy to lug around, so we invested in a convertible car seat since he has to be rear-facing for at least a year. We wanted to make sure we were fitting the car seat straps correctly so placed him in the car seat as a test run. He seems pretty happy about his new Graco “My Ride 65”.

Grandpa's Golf Cart

So Grandpa Reinhart purchased a golf-cart and he says it is just for him…but everyone knows that he really bought it so that he and Nathan could cruise around the neighborhood.
