Pulling himself up on Everything

Nathan has been pulling himself up to the coffee table the past few weeks. Well, he has mastered the coffee table and is moving on to bigger and better things. He can now pull himself up to windowsills, kitchen chairs, coaches, entertainment centers. Here is a picture of Nathan in action.

Baseball Pitcher in the Making

Nathan is getting really good at throwing a ball. So good in fact that he throws other things, remote controls, food, blocks, sippy cups. Nick is proud because he wants Nathan to play baseball and he has a pretty good arm for a 12 month old.

Shoop Park

We spent a good chunk of the afternoon at Shoop Park. Nathan was more interested in all the other kids then playing himself. Daddy pushed Nathan up high in the swing.

And then we went to Friendly’s for ice cream. Nathan got a smiley sundae with whip topping and a sugar cone.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Nathan down the road to this pumpkin patch called “Katie’s Pumpkins”. They had pumpkins of every size, stalks of corn, and bales of hay. Nathan found a pumpkin that was just his size.

And then he found another one that he liked better but couldn’t carry it. Nathan liked patting the pumpkins like a drum and then he would chew on the top of the stem. He is teething again. We ended up buying 4 pumpkins for Nathan to play with.

Hangin with Fiona

Nathan and Fiona are 7 months apart in age and are buds already. She came over to watch the OSU game with Nathan a few weeks ago. Fiona wore her cheerleader outfit and Nathan wore his jersey. They are too cute together.

LC Part V - The Farm

How many kids can say that their Great Grandparents have a real farm with Cows, Corn, and Tractors!!! Great Grandpa Shouse introduced Nathan to all the cows. We had to be extra careful not to step in the cow patties along the way.

LC Part IV - Boating Time

The weather was beautiful in Kentucky and the water was warm. Here are some pictures of Nathan and Fiona ready for a day on the boats.

And here are some pictures of everyone enjoying Lake Cumberland.

LC Part III - Slinky…what a wonderful toy

Great Grandma Shouse dug around the attic and found a toy just for Nathan… a slinky!! Nathan laughed as the slinky went down the stairs and liked pulling it apart and watching it spring back together. What a wonderful toy.

LC Part II- Playing with Fiona

Nathan was really interested in Fiona’s pink playmate and Fiona was more interested in Nathan and would not take her eyes off of him.

Lake Cumberland (LC) Part I - Peanut-butter crackers

We went on a boating trip to Lake Cumberland with Aunt Brooke, Uncle Andy, Cousin Fiona and Grandma and Grandpa Shouse. While we were out on the boat Nathan started getting fussy so we looked around to see what we could give him to eat. In a panic to get him a snack, I grabbed some peanut butter crackers. He started eating one and smiled. One minute later he was reaching for another pb cracker. While I was pregnant I ate a lot of peanut butter so maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised that Nathan loved the peanut butter crackers.

Ball Crawl

We were going to wait for Nathan’s B-day to give him the “Ball Crawl” as my mom calls it. It is a huge tent with several compartments that attach to each other. Here is a picture of Nathan and his new toy.

PF Changs

Nathan had his first PF Changs and chopstick experience. Grandma Shouse was teaching Nathan how to use the chopsticks as drumsticks.

Popcorn Festival and 9/11 dedication

We went to the Popcorn festival to watch the 9/11 dedication ceremony. Beavercreek was accepting a structural beam from the twin towers which they are going to make a memorial for the "first reponders". Grandpa Reinhart as part of the VFW fired his riffle in remembrance of the tragic incident and the American lives lost in NY 9 years ago. Here are some pictures of Nathan and Grandpa.

Mommy's Surprise B-Day Party

Daddy was successful in keeping a secret for well 2 months and Mommy had no idea that he was planning a surprise B-day bash. Here is a picture from Mommy’s 30th B-day Party and of course her favorite little boy.
